Ala Moana Beach Park. I was off work, this morning, so I had a nice early run. There were lots of runners (I was even passed a couple of times :-/). Started out too fast and thought I was going to burn out but ended up keeping a good pace throughout. Afterwards, I had a nice refreshing swim :-)

West Loch Shoreline Park. Only ran 4 miles because I was really pressed for time...had to take the babysitter home, pick up the wife from work, pick up my mom's christmas box before the post office closed.

Loved the clouds during the first mile. Struggled the last mile but finished. My right hamstring started to tighten (just a bit) at the end.

Pearl City Bike Path (Neal Blaisell Park). I meant to go only 5 miles because I'm running tomorrow. During the first mile, I decided to run to the end of the path, down Waipahu Depot Rd & Farrington Hwy and back to the bike path (near Waipahu High School). It turned out to be amost exactly 8 miles. Hot sun for most of the run but there was a nice breeze. I was dying the last mile with sore legs, feet...even toes!

Sand Island Beach Park. Wanted to run at Sand Island but I forgot my dang shoes! Since I was near the beach, I decided to go for a run on the beach...BIG mistake! The sand was deep, even at the shoreline (quicksand?). I stopped after 15 minutes cuz my Achilles tendons were killing me. All in all...a sucky experience :-/

West Loch Shoreline Park. Ran south down the bike path thinking 4 miles. I was in a long, slow running mode and felt good as I made my way down Fort Weaver Road. I bumped up my goal to 5 miles as I turned around at Iroquois Rd. By the time I reached the park (starting point), I was almost at 6 miles :)

Kalihi Street Up & Back. Felt pretty good. Ran at 2pm but there were some clouds. On the climbs, didn't need to stop and catch my breath, like usual, but I was crawling at times. Took it easy on the downhills cuz this was my third day in a row running.


Note: Strange thing happened. I forgot to connect the receiver to my iPod (10/11 run). It shouldn't have worked but it saved the workout under "Sensor 2" but didn't send it to nikeplus.com. The distance was pretty accurate but the time was off.

Kalihi St Loop. Nice, cool morning run. Still felt sleepy...no energy (wish I had a cup of coffee beforehand). Ran a different loop and had to stop & walk a couple of times on Numana & Valley View (150-ft climb). The run ended with a small incline for the last .6 miles (no problem).

April was the month of the cough for me. I was hacking up phlegm almost the entire month. OTC meds didn't work and I was too busy to see the doc or vise versa.

Whoa, I haven't run for over a month! Some stuffs (sic) have changed in my, which will effect my running...okay, one big change!

My wife is working full time now. I need to pick her up as soon as I'm off work which means...no more after work runs on the Pearl City Bike Path :(

I'm getting home later (gotta pick up dakine...baby) so I have a small window to get my runs in. There will be more time on the weekends to workout.

Reboot! Early February...2011

Well, well...after recovering from my cold, I decided to make a fresh start after the New Year. The New Year came and went...no running. 2 weeks passed...a month...nothing! My iPod was dead (battery wouldn't hold a charge) & my GPS watch wouldn't charge at all! Was the runner in me, along with my gear, dead?

Looking to workout, from the comfort of my own home, I started researching spinner exercise bikes and picked out the ProForm 290 SPX. The day before purchasing the bike, from the local sporting goods store, my running spirit said, "NO!"

This spirit guided me to the "Running Room" where a pair of New Balance 1064's awaited. Then it was on to Best Buy for a new iPod Nano & the Nike + iPod sport kit.

Now, I'm ready to go and "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now"...except for another bad cold and a nasty, painful fever blister (another 2 weeks lost!).

Pearl City Bike Path (Waipahu Depot Rd). Easy 3 miles (3 miles isn't easy anymore!). Started getting a sore throat later on.
